Punctuate Your P's

Al Simmons/Ken Whiteley

F                 C7   C#7        D7

I always punctuate my P's

  Gm7          C7     Am7    D7

I puff and pop perpetually,

Gm7          C7     Am7    D7

Puckered up so properly.

Bb        Bdim   F/c    D7

Pardon my pomposity

               Gm7     C7         F

While I punctuate my P's

F                C7      C#7      D7

Politely protest if you please.

          Gm7      C7      Am7      D7

Pitch papaya pits at my knees.

Gm7         C7           Am7      D7

Pressure me and plead

        Bb      Bdim   F/c    D7

But I'll persist, I will proceed

      Gm7   C7           F           E7

To punctuate my P's

Eb7 Dm                                    Bb

Implore the Prince of Poompanees

Dm                                 Bb7      A7

To pay printers their proper fees

Gm7       C7 F   Dm  Gm  C7      F

To print on paper precisely

Bb F      Bb           A7      Bb

A proclamation that decrees

Bb                Bdim        G7   C7

"People! Punctuate your P's!"

(F C7 C#7 D7 ETC.) X 2

The principal purpose of my purportedly preposterous preaching is to

promote impeccably proper "P" pronunciation, and in the process I predict

that a population of proud "P" punctuators will

produce a permanent planetary peace. For proof: peruse the profound

possibilities. Would this political pundit pontificate pointlessly? I

implore you please propel your P's.

F                         C7 C#7 D7

Increase your popularity

     Gm7        C7               Am7       D7

Prepare to purse your lips like me

          Gm7      C7    Am7           D7

And pepper paragraphs with P's

     Bb      Bdim      F/c      D7

Depart upon a puffing spree

          Gm7 C7              F      E7

And punctuate your P's

Eb7 Dm                          Bb

Procure a pack of chimpanzees

      Dm                  Bb7      A7

To poise atop a pink trapeze

Gm7           C7 F Dm Gm C7  F

And paint a pile of purple P's

Bb   F           Bb      A7 Bb

Proclaiming to humanity

Bb                     Bdim   G7   C7

"People! Punctuate your P's!"

F                 C7   C#7        D7

I always punctuate my P's

  Gm7          C7     Am7    D7

I puff and pop perpetually,

Gm7          C7     Am7    D7

Puckered up so properly.

Bb        Bdim   F/c    D7

Pardon my pomposity

      Bb      Bdim             F/c D7

While I pronounce it publicly

      Bb      Bdim        F/c    D7

That P propulsion is the key

       Bb           Bdim   F/c D7

To personal popularity

          Gm7    C7

So I punctuate,

                        Gm7     C7

That's why I punctuate,

                  Gm7   C7         F

I always punctuate my P's!
