Al Simmons performed with the Winnipeg Symphony for the first time in 1979.
The Concert Master was Arthur Polson.

"The photo was taken at an event organized by Peter Jordan (AKA Rocky Rolletti).
He was the Student Cultural Co-ordinator at the U of W at the time and
he thought it would be quite clever and interesting to combine the sublime
Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra with the ridiculous Human Jukebox Al Simmons.
The show was a grand success and the beginning of a long
relationship between the WSO and me. Thank you Peter Jordan!"
